water fun day

Our first activity on Water fun day was the
Sponge bob square pants and in that activity
you had to dip a sponge in a bucket of water and
pass it back going under and over.Then the person
at the end of the line runs to the Kowhai house
bucket and squeezes all the water in it. I got to
run three times. 

We moved to our next activity which was the
swimming pool that was my favorite activity.
Our next activity was Holly molly
you had to run up a hill with a glass
of water without letting the water
fall through the holes. 

Our next activity was water balloon.
You had to catch the balloon without
dropping it and whichever house has the
most balloons not popped gets more
water in their bucket. 

Our second to last activity was called
Holy molly. You had to fill up small yogurt
cups and run up the hill and put it in
your bucket. 

Our last activity was water slide you had to
fill up a cup of water and slide down and try
keep the water in your cup and then pour it in to
the bucket.

I really enjoyed the day and my favorite activity was the water slide.

There are 8 pencils in a box. AJ has 15 boxes of pencils. How many pencils are altogether?

15 x 8 =

10 x 8 = 80

5 x 8 = 40

80 + 40 = 120

To solve this problem, I used place value partitioning. I multiplied 10 by 8 and I got 80 as the answer.
Then, I multiplied 5 by 8 and I got 40 as their answer. Then I added 80 and 40 and I got 120.
So AJ has 120 pencils altogether.

Hi, my name is Arman. My first day of school was very exciting because
I was going to a new class and the same teacher from 2019.   

This year I am in Room 10 and my teacher's name is Mr. Nath. I am in year six now. I am very excited to be in Room 10  because I get to learn more.

My goals for this year are to become much more confident with my writing and
solve maths problems with higher strategies.
