Ambury farm

I was so excited to go to ambury farm with my school because I knew that there was going to be lots of animals and we get to feed and touch them.

When we got on to the bus the last few people got on board and the bus began to move. The ride was so comforting and I felt like sleeping but at the same time I was to excited. After about half an hour we reached the farm.

Park Summary Details

The first thing that we did was eat our morning tea and then we put our bags in the locker. We went into a barn where we met our two tutors named Caroline and Maradith. We got told all the conditions and rules about the farm. We eventually got into an activity it was a game where you had to sort the card into order under these three categories: What is out of the farmers control, Inputs and outputs. Inputs is what the farmer sells, outputs is what the farmer needs to buy for the farm and what is out of the farmers control is like the weather for example.

Finally We got to go and explore the farm and the first place we went to was the milking shed and met two cows named Maggie and Fly they were mother and daughter. We got to touch them and feel how hot the milking pipe was. In that session I learnt that one cow fills an approximate ten two liter bottles which is twenty liters!

Next we went to the sheep shearing shed and we got shown how to shear a sheep and the main reason that they do it is because they want to prevent fly strike and if that happens to one sheep that sheep is at a ex termly high risk of dying.

We finally got to feed the animals. The first animal that we feed was the sheep I was a little bit scared but I still did it and it felt like a little kiss on the hand. The next animals we fed were the goats there were only two of them so it was a little bit harder but we all took turns but now I wasn't scared to feed them. Finally we fed the chickens it felt like somebody poking a sharp pencil on your palm. We also met the horses and then started to head back for lunch.

We had our lunch and started to head back to the bus. That was my day at Ambury farm I really enjoyed it!

How to make a catapult

What was the activity?

The activity was to make a catapult that works.

What is a catapult?

catapult is a type of machine used as a weapon to throw rocks or other things such as hot tar, that would cause damage to something else. They shot rocks to break castle walls, or pitch or hot tar to set the target on fire. Catapults use weights and levers to send the rocks or other things into the air.

Do You Know That Greeks Invented the Catapult?

What happened when I tested my catapult?

When I tested my catapult it throw my projectile and it worked quite well.

Reflection of the activity. What did you enjoy/learn?

When I read about my structure I learnt that the catapult was invented by the Greeks. I also learnt a lot about how a catapult works.

How to make a anti gravity glass.

Today's activity?

Today's activity was to build an anti gravity glass and to do a sisomo (sight sound motion)

Anti gravity glass is?

So today I have created two forces which when they come together the create enough force that they can over come gravity.

Here is my video on how to build an anti gravity glass.

What happened when I tested my anti gravity glass?

Well I didn't get soaked and I didn't wet the floor so I thought that it was a very successful experiment. And the water didn't fall out so it turned out to be very anti gravity.

Reflection of the activity. What did you enjoy learn?

I learnt a lot about how gravity work and a lot of things about gravity.
