Ambury farm
I was so excited to go to ambury farm with my school because I knew that there was going to be lots of animals and we get to feed and touch them.
When we got on to the bus the last few people got on board and the bus began to move. The ride was so comforting and I felt like sleeping but at the same time I was to excited. After about half an hour we reached the farm.
The first thing that we did was eat our morning tea and then we put our bags in the locker. We went into a barn where we met our two tutors named Caroline and Maradith. We got told all the conditions and rules about the farm. We eventually got into an activity it was a game where you had to sort the card into order under these three categories: What is out of the farmers control, Inputs and outputs. Inputs is what the farmer sells, outputs is what the farmer needs to buy for the farm and what is out of the farmers control is like the weather for example.
Finally We got to go and explore the farm and the first place we went to was the milking shed and met two cows named Maggie and Fly they were mother and daughter. We got to touch them and feel how hot the milking pipe was. In that session I learnt that one cow fills an approximate ten two liter bottles which is twenty liters!
Next we went to the sheep shearing shed and we got shown how to shear a sheep and the main reason that they do it is because they want to prevent fly strike and if that happens to one sheep that sheep is at a ex termly high risk of dying.
We finally got to feed the animals. The first animal that we feed was the sheep I was a little bit scared but I still did it and it felt like a little kiss on the hand. The next animals we fed were the goats there were only two of them so it was a little bit harder but we all took turns but now I wasn't scared to feed them. Finally we fed the chickens it felt like somebody poking a sharp pencil on your palm. We also met the horses and then started to head back for lunch.
We had our lunch and started to head back to the bus. That was my day at Ambury farm I really enjoyed it!

How to make a catapult
What was the activity?
The activity was to make a catapult that works.
What is a catapult?
A catapult is a type of machine used as a weapon to throw rocks or other things such as hot tar, that would cause damage to something else. They shot rocks to break castle walls, or pitch or hot tar to set the target on fire. Catapults use weights and levers to send the rocks or other things into the air.
What happened when I tested my catapult?
When I tested my catapult it throw my projectile and it worked quite well.
Reflection of the activity. What did you enjoy/learn?
When I read about my structure I learnt that the catapult was invented by the Greeks. I also learnt a lot about how a catapult works.

How to make a anti gravity glass.
Today's activity?
Today's activity was to build an anti gravity glass and to do a sisomo (sight sound motion)
Anti gravity glass is?
So today I have created two forces which when they come together the create enough force that they can over come gravity.
Here is my video on how to build an anti gravity glass.
What happened when I tested my anti gravity glass?
Well I didn't get soaked and I didn't wet the floor so I thought that it was a very successful experiment. And the water didn't fall out so it turned out to be very anti gravity.
Reflection of the activity. What did you enjoy learn?
I learnt a lot about how gravity work and a lot of things about gravity.

How to build a super column
What happened when I tested my super columns power?
Well when I tested my two flat sheets of paper it collapsed without even holding it up for a second.
When I tested my two circular ones they held the rock for very short time and then collapsed, but it still worked better than the first sheets of paper.
Then I tested my triangular pillars they held up the rock for very long and still it didn't collapse.
Reflection of the activity. What did you enjoy/learn?
I learnt that triangular pillars were the strongest.

How to make a Xylophone
Today the activity I did was:
To build a xylophone and do a Sisomo ( sight, sound, motion) how to make it.
A Xylophone is:
A xylophone is a musical instrument. Most xylophones are made from various metals and woods. In xylophones there are strips of varying lengths arranged in a row from the smallest strip to the biggest strip. Because of them being different lengths, they produce different kind of musical sounds.

There are some vegetables that need hot not cold air or cold not hot air.
No all of the types of plants require different climates.
Is to provide warmth or cool air to specific plants.
If a plant gets to hot it will struggle to survive and most likely die.
High temperatures affect plant growth in numerous ways. The most obvious are the effects of heat on photosynthesis
Yes because it will grow plants and plants are very important.

How to build a raised bed garden
How to make a raised bed garden
The materials you will need are 3 long wood pallets that can be any length up to you. and two shorter wood pallets for the width, a drill, and some screws. Also, keep some scrap wood for strengthening.
Method/ procedure of building a raised bed garden is quite a simple task and it organizes your garden nicely.
Steps
Firstly, you need your drill, some screws and 3 pieces of wood.
Once you have got all your materials take your two pieces of wood and cut one into exactly half, this step is giving you both your width pieces and it’ also saving you time.
Secondly, take your length piece and screw through the width piece because when your plant grows it tends to push against the length side. And so if the screw was in the length piece it would push the screw out faster and your raised bed wouldn't last long. Repeat the step step on the remaining corners.
Once you have finished that particular step, you might find that your build is a bit bendy, to fix that you need to get your scrap wood and cut four pieces to the height of your raised bed. and cut it to the height of your raised bed garden. After that drill two screws through the width piece and do so for all four. And so when that step is done you can start planting.

Car Pollution
Not everybody would agree but I want to say that when cars burn gasoline, they emit pollutants. Gasoline fumes escape into the air even when we pump gasoline into our fuel tanks. A car emits carbon monoxide when the carbon in fuel doesn't burn completely. A car's exhaust emits hydrocarbons, a toxic compound of hydrogen and carbon.
I also want to say that car pollution contributes significantly to climate change, which results from a buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Burning fossil fuels in cars release carbon dioxide, which is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S.A.
Secondly, I would like to say that car pollution can also harm human health like particulates matter,
Hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and other car pollutants harm human health. Diesel engines emit high levels of particulate matter, which are airborne particles of soot and metal. These cause skin and eye irritation and allergies, and very fine particles lodge deep in the lungs, where they cause respiratory problems. Hydrocarbons react with nitrogen dioxide and sunlight and form ozone, which is beneficial in the upper atmosphere but harmful at ground level.
Ozone inflamed lungs, causing chest pains and coughing and making it difficult to breathe. Carbon monoxide, Another exhaust gas is particularly dangerous to infants and people suffering from heart disease because it interferes with the blood's ability to transport oxygen. Other car pollutants that harm human health include sulfur dioxide, benzene, and formaldehyde. Noise from cars is also harmful, damaging hearing and causing ear problems.
Furthermore, I would like to say that there are alternatives. There are several ways that car and truck owners can reduce the effects of car pollutants on the environment. Old and poorly maintained vehicles cause most pollution from cars, but electric, hybrid, and other clean, fuel-efficient cars have a reduced impact. When buying a new car, check the fuel economy and environment label. High ratings mean low pollution levels.
Maximize fuel economy by removing all unneeded items, such as roof racks, and driving steadily, rather than accelerating quickly and braking hard. Keep your vehicle well-maintained, with regular tune-ups and tire checks, and leave the car at home whenever you can. Walk, bike, or use public transportation when possible.

Plastic bags should be banned persuasive writing.
It is not biodegradable
Sea creatures can choke on it by thinking that it is Jelly fish
It can pollute the environment and waterways.
Although not everybody would agree
that plastic bags should be banned,
I believe that plastic bags should be
banned because plastic bags pollute
our land and water. Since plastic bags
are so lightweight, they can travel long
distances by wind and water. They litter
our landscapes, get caught in fences and
trees, float around in waterways, and can
eventually make their way into the world's oceans.
I have several reasons for arguing my point
of view. Plastic bags tend to disrupt the environment
seriously. They get into soil and slowly release toxic
chemicals. They eventually break down into the soil,
with the unfortunate result being that animals eat them
and often choke and die.
My third reason is that plastic bags are petroleum-based
and do not biodegrade. Sea turtles and other marine
creatures mistake plastics and other garbage as food
(such as jellyfish) and ingest it. This mistake causes
blockages within their digestive system and they eventually die.
Furthermore I would like to say that the impact of
plastic bags on the environment is enormous.
As of August 2010, between 500 billion and 1
\ trillion plastic bags are being used each year
worldwide. Approximately 100,000 sea turtles
and other marine animals die every year because
they either mistake the bags for food or get
strangled in them, according to Natural Environment.
In Australia, 50 million garbage bags end up as
litter yearly, and the “plastic soup” patch floating
in the Pacific Ocean is twice the size of the continental
United States. It is roughly 80 percent plastic, according
to The Independent, a British newspaper.
Over 1,000 turtles die each year just because of plastic
bags being not disposed of properly and going into
the drains and they travel to the ocean and then turtles
mistake them for Jellyfish and then they eat it and then it kills them.
I would also like to say there are alternatives to plastic
bags, such as non biodegradable cloth bags which some
supermarkets have already started to provide you with.
Some of them are Countdown, Pak N Save, 4 Square and many more.
I strongly believe that plastic bags should be banned
and there are my reasons.
Hi Arman; this is a very good persuasive writing.
However, could you suggest to your readers as to
what could be the alternative to plastic bags. How about: reusable
cloth or paper bags. You could add this to your last paragraph.
