Duffy role model assembly  Yesterday Glenbrae had it’s Duffy role model assembly.
Our role model was Sam James  Verlimden. He is also known as Sam V Sam V is
famous as a musician , song writer, singer and actor.

Sam spoke to us about importance of books and reading because he felt  that these

were the things which helped him become a successful musician.

Sam studied at the Auckland university  of technology and attended bachelor's
degree in communication.

We had a lot of fun because he  taught us a game called boomfa. This game
involves clapping after we played the game he gave out the books to each class.

I felt very excited when he was about to sing us his favorite song called "What you
have done for me".

Antarctica

Today I am very excited because we are going to the airport to fly to Santiago Chile. I got my bag and packed it. We loaded all our bags into the car and drove off to the airport. We found a parking space and off loaded all our baggage and went to check in. After that we went through security and waited at the gate. Our plane name was LATAM airways.   

When they announced that our plane was ready to board we found our seats I picked the window seat. After I had fastened my seat belt I looked out of the window and saw so many ground staff working such as filling fuel, guiding planes and people. We started taxing. Once we got to the runway the pilots started the engines at full throttle, and the plane zoomed down the runway, the plane went high in to the sky everything on the ground looked like a toy model at that height.


A couple of hours in to the flight we got pasta for our dinner it was very, very nice. After the meal I fell asleep. When I woke up it was breakfast time, after breakfast it was time to land. We were told that it is the afternoon of 21st in Santiago. It was like we traveled back in time using a time machine. From the airport we went to our hotel in the Santiago Airport and slept there.

HORSE

I woke up in the bright green grass with the sun shining on my hair. But my family were still a sleep. So I decided to go frolicking in the grass. While my family was still asleep.

While I was moving in the grass I saw some other horses eating grass too. And I got hungry so I started eating grass too.Then my family woke up.So I started feeding them.

I had a bath in the near by lake. It was a bright blue lake.the big shiny,sun shimmering on it.                                                                                                                                                                                                

Lily and the Snowman

There was this little girl named Lily who was making a snowman out of solid ice and BOOM, it came to life. He started making shadow puppets. The snowman was melting so the little girl put him in the freezer .

Next the girl started getting older and forgot about him. Then suddenly the lamp fell and the tea cup fell and then she got reminded about the snowman.

She grabbed her keys and coat and went straight to her old home and looked in the freezer. She looked worried about him. The snowman was so excited to see his best Friend come back after so many years.
 

water fun day

Glen brae school had water fun day there were 5 events the first one was walk the plank you had to walk the plank as fast as you can and when the other person returns get the cup fill it up and run to the big house bucket. Next was the 3 legged race you find a partner and The one on the right side gets the cup and runs. Try not to spiel to much water. The last activity was like there was 1 sponge and the person at the front dips it in the bucket of water   and passes to the next person above the first persons head . the pattern was under and over the last person ran as soon as they got the sponge to squeeze it in the house bucket.   

 

Who am I!

Namaste!  My name is Arman. I am 9 years old. I have an elder sister who is in third year university. I am a student of Glenbrae school. My dads name is Jay and he is a teacher. My Mum's name is Nicki and she is a project manager. My favourite colour is blue, my favourite sport is cricket and I am good at it.

Antarctic blog 2

Today we woke up very  early to catch a 4:30 am flight from Santiago airport. This flight would take us to Punta Arenas witch is at the bottom of  South America. 

When we landed there we rented a 4X4 SUV from Europcar. 

The person at Europcar told us that the car we had booked cannot go to Argentina. We had to cancel all our hotel bookings in Argentina and make new bookings in chile. We drove to Puerto Natales via Villa Tehuelche. At Puerto Natales we could not find one hotel for 3 nights of Christmas 24, 25 and 26 December. Some hotels were closed. We found one hotel who got us rooms for 2 nights of 24 and 25. Then we found  another with rooms for the 26 th night, and finally we were organized. Now we drove to the torres del paine national park 

 where our Hotel Lago Grey was and we stayed for 2 days. We had a very nice view of the Grey glacier from our rooms.

On the way we stopped at  some places like Cerro Castillo, Lake Sarmiento etc for some beautiful photos. 

We reached our hotel at 6:30 pm. It is a very big hotel just next to the grey lake from witch it gets its name. 

Our rooms were having views of the lake and also the grey glacier it was very beautiful. We went for a walk by the water front at 11 pm and there was still light.
