Plan: 5’s Who, What, Where, When, Why
Incredible, Astounding, Breathtaking, Gigantic
As tall as a Giraffe
As room 7 from glenbrae school got off the bus everyone stared in amazement as the 328-meter tall building stood in front of us. I couldn't wait to see the breathtaking views from the top as it looked as if I could see the whole of New Zealand from up there. We went into the gift shop which had a small theater when our guide named Maria came in and talked to us briefly about what the clips will tell us. She turned on the screen and we watched carefully. We got prizes if we answered one of the questions she asked about the clip.
Finally, I got on to the elevator and I stood on the glass panel. I was waiting for the outside glass to come so that I could see outside while we were going up which was great fun. In about 18-20 seconds we were at the main observation deck and we got about 15 minutes to wander about and enjoy the views. The books and pencils we got before we came up had some fun activities that you had to do by looking at what you could see.
We had lunch then we walked down 5 flights of stairs and entered the refuge levels. There are three refuge levels but we went to level 45 because all three of them are identical. They have an orange cabinet which is used to keep medical supplies and food cans in case of a fire, the rooms are circular and the inside post is made of concrete which makes it very stable and safe because concrete can handle a 9.0 magnitude earthquake as well as a fire up to 90 degrees. Just in front of the orange cabinet was a dinosphere and what that does is that it gets struck by lightning and so it stops lightning from striking the tower directly.
Now was the last tour of the Sky Tower and that was the 60th floor which was my favorite part of the trip because you could lean on the windows however I will admit that I was a little bit scared but in the end, I was able to lean with confidence. What we did on level sixty was just to look at the architecture because that is what we went there for. And also just to learn by asking questions.
Finally to conclude I extremely and thoroughly enjoyed that trip although I did feel a bit dizzy when I got off the lifts. I still really enjoyed the trip which was held on the sixth of May 2021.
